Driss R. Temsamani: Darija is Back / I have always wondered why Moroccans don't use Darija to express ourselves. Many of us "Moroccans", grew up speaking French, Spanish, English, Classical Arabic at school. At home there was this mix of Darija +... For sure confusing... Yet speaking French, English was also cool and hip... So we adopted this language identity that you could say affected us beyond just trying to be cool... So what's wrong with Darija anyway?
